The Leclerc is currently the only main battle tank of the French army. As yet designed as a Cold War tank, it was to fight the overwhelming enemy forces. Leclerc has been serving for over 20 years in the armed forces of France and the United Arab Emirates. From 1989, when the Leclerc prototype appeared, it is considered one of the most versatile and lethal armored vehicles. Despite its fame, there are relatively few publications in English about it, and most of the information that appears on the Internet is incorrect.
